Further information on Mental Health Screening important for considering REMOVAL of MOTHERS Act from the docket of HELP Committee

Senator Kennedy,
I am sure by now you have heard of the NIU shooting which was the fourth shooting on a college campus in one week. This was a shooting caused by Prozac.
The MOTHERS Act (S. 1375) which seeks to screen pregnant and new moms for warning signs of mental illness and ensure that they get "treatment" (i.e. - drugs, hospitalization, psychiatric but not health-related or anything to address any underlying causes) has the potential to destroy our country and compromise future generations.
I am a Zoloft Survivor. I took Zoloft for 5 months, starting at only 6 days postpartum. The home health nurse who came to my house on day 5 learned that my baby had nearly died from a life-threatening choking incident and that I was very anxious about him as a result. Her advice was to get drugs to ward off any more severe PPD which might occur. My doctor gave it to me in the form of samples with the package label removed. I trusted my doctor and I paid a dear price, with a temporary loss of sanity and by exposing my newborn son to this poison in my milk for 5 months. I became homicidal and suicidal after only 3 days taking Zoloft. I had no prior history of mental issues of any sort, and everything got better once I stopped Zoloft.
Recently-revealed studies have proven that antidepressants don't work, and the 2004 FDA warnings on antidepressant-induced suicide, which were added after decades of FDA neglect, have saved many lives in recent years. (see
www.uniteforlife.org)
The last thing we need is another push to use drugs. I see this as a steppingstone to creating a society where people are considered crazy if they DO NOT take antidepressants. I have even heard of women being offered a patch in the hospital after they gave birth which is supposed to "prevent" PPD. So why would anyone even bother with screening anyway? Clearly the ultimate goal of the pharmaceutical companies is to drug everyone regardless of whether or not they have symptoms or any real disease.
According to documents I read today on the ICSPP website (look for the letter from Dr. Toby Tyler Watson to the Teen Screen Administrator - it's at
http://www.icspp.org/), a similar non-mandatory program going on right now called Teen Screen has resulted in 90% of subjects being given a psychiatric drug prescription!!
The only right thing that can be done in this situation is to STOP the MOTHERS Act NOW before it becomes law. Do not let the pharmaceutical agenda become government policy.
I hope you will do the right thing to protect us from having to live a nightmare in the USA, and to protect the innocent unborn children and newborns from being put in so much danger!
